Like clockwork, every March, a lot of American men become extremely invested in their March Madness brackets. As someone who is not an American man, I don’t entirely understand the ritual myself, so I sympathize with girlfriends and wives who have to hear about brackets for a month whether they want to or not.


Fortunately, one woman has come up with a way to make March Madness more interesting for those of us who aren’t particularly into sports: a bracket based on how hot the coaches are.

Putting together this bracket obviously takes a lot of work, specifically a lot of photo research work. Based on this research, participants can then make decisions about who will move through each round, starting with 64 and ending with the final two.


In the case of this bracket, the final two consisted of the coaches for UAB (the University of Alabama at Birmingham) and Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City: Andy Kennedy and Shaheen Holloway, who actually left Saint Peter’s in 2022 to coach the Seton Hall Pirates, which many commenters were quick to point out. Nevertheless, he is fine, so it’s only right that he be celebrated for it.



Commenters were full of their own suggestions for coaches who should’ve taken out the top prize, with many naming Nebraska coach Fred Hoiberg as the hottest coach in the NCAA. While he may not have won the bracket, he did recently have his contract extended through the 2028-2029 season and receive a tasty $1 million annual raise, bumping his salary up to $4.25 million a year, so he’s probably pretty content despite losing the bracket.



In response to multiple requests, OP was kind enough to post the full bracket, breaking down each of her choices from the first round all the way to the top two. The video is almost nine minutes long, but there are some gems, including finding out that OP learned something about herself during the process of making the bracket: that she has a thing for bald men. The main thing I’ve learned from all of this is that a lot of people have very strong opinions on the attractiveness of certain NCAA coaches, but primarily, people are loyal to their team’s coach, which makes sense. It’s nice that OP was able to put her support for Kentucky aside and assess the coaches fairly. In the end, the best (looking) man won!
